Week 35  (7/22/19)  New Companion !!

Hey Family,

Thanks for talking today, and for wishing me a happy birthday!!  I cant believe I will be 22 years old tomorrow and that I have already served 8 months in my mission!  I don't know where the time goes, so that's why we need to enjoy every moment of it!

This past week was good, but also sad because Sister Gnoatto left for her house and should be home in about 2 hours.  I know how excited she must be to see her family, and for them to see her too. She is the only member in her family, I am not sure if they fully understood her reasoning for serving a mission. She told me that they received blessings and benefited from her serving here.

Friday night I went back to my old stomping grounds in Americo. (my area before this area).  It is super close, about 20 minutes by car.  There was a Pioneer Day celebration and I didn't have any clothes to wear, don't worry I found something but you won't believe what it was, lol!

I was looking for some sheets and came across something that wasn't exactly a sheet, and not exactly a rag. It was somewhere in between. The seamstress in me turned it into a dress, it was super crazy!! I am not sure how to describe what happened. This sheet/rag was sewn on one side and opened on the top and bottom. Somehow after a a little bit of magic and a little bit of luck, it turned into a dress!  It was super funny and no one knew that it was an old sheet/rag, and everyone was complementing me on it, Oh it was super funny!!

I will try to send pictures next week. Today my new companion arrives, I'll talk more next week.

Until then, I love you all!!

Week 34 (7-15-19) short email / transfers this week

Hey Family!
Thanks for the email!
Sounds like you guys had a great trip and the pictures are awesome! Glad you all had a great time! Sorry my email won't be very long today, I was looking for images because I am making a planner for an elder.
Every transfer we get a new planner and plan our lives everyday. It's usually a tradition to have someone make your planner for you with things that you like. So this elder likes countrysides  and sports, so I'm going to fill it with this things
Sorry I didn't write much.
Love you all and I'll talk to you more next week. Transfers are Saturday and my bday in next Tuesday .
I sent letters to you guys
Love,
Sister Pierce

Week 33 (7-8-19)   Baptism & Pictures !!!

Hey Family!
Sounds like you all had a great 4th, had a great BBQ, dressed up in red white and blue, and so did the dogs and guinea pigs. LOL! Looks like you all are changing. Grandma sent me a picture of me and Granby we took last 4th of July.... not only have you guys changed, but I have too. I was much skinnier then.
Sounds like Aunt Dee, Grandpa Boling's sister looks like she is alive and healthy for 84 years old LOL. If I've met her I don't remember her. I imagine Serenity was in Heaven when she saw all the crafts and mom was too- but more about the chocolate.

Serenity is sure getting tall! Is she loving her Guinea pigs?? What's their names? I think I should send her an email. Sounds like the Temple was amazing. I had a dream the other night and I was at the Temple I don't remember what I did, but I remember I had a dream, and now that I think I about it I think it was Thursday night, the same day you went to the Temple...... But don't quote me on it. I imagine its really pretty all green and what not.

This past week we had a baptism. It was super cool. Valmir, he is 27 years old. Hopefully I can send pictures this week..... Oh Friday we had a short Zone Conference in Riberiao and got to meet President and Sister Santos. They are amazing!!! And President, he has SO MUCH ENERGY!!  He is full of the Spirit, but I  think he was a little nervous talking to us. I also think that Sister Santos is going to start a new FB page for the mission, but once I hear something I'll let you know :)

It's been really cold here this last week with lots of rain, and wind so thankfully some members of our ward gave us some warmer clothes to use and extra blankets. They really take care of us here. I really, really love my area.

This past week we got a referral from Salt Lake City, UT.  If you don't know what that is, it's when people go online to the church website and type some info like your address, name other things, or they can also call a 800 number and then Salt Lake contacts us and we need to contact people within 24 hours.

Great, so we went to this house and met Marco and Alexandra. They are lawyers. When Marco was younger he went to church a few times, but stopped going because he was scared of serving a mission. Many years have passed and now he and his wife want to come to church and be baptized AMEN!!!! They want their young son to be raised in the gospel and have a religious background. When we were talking to them they have so many great questions! And Marco remembers a lot from when he was younger, especially about the Prophet Joseph Smith.

We showed them the Church app, but they also wanted a paper copy of the Book of Mormon. Marco said he could read it in about 2 or 3 days. You GUYS!!!! This is amazing. They are so responsive to everything. And yesterday at church everyone welcomed them and one member wants to have them and us over for dinner to talk more. They have a date for baptism on 27 July but they need to get married legally first.  But other than that, oh man I am soooooooooo happy!!! I feel like that's what a mission is, helping people especially people who really truly want it.

I think that sums up my week. We have new cabinets in our kitchen and bathroom-woo hoo. It's like a new house. I really love the members here. A president of a branch is the one who is helping with these renovations.

I think today we are going to go to cathloiv (Darcy: I have no idea what she said here, maybe Catholic?) fair today, with lots of things that are cheap so I am excited about that I'll let you know how it goes.

OH also the photos are from members in our ward.
The one with the twins and us and the books are what the girls made for us when we had dinner with them the other day.

You may have noticed I was dressed in red white and blue... lol and the other was in case I couldn't send you a  photo today of my family reunion shirt, because I thought that maybe you would want to show people me wearing the shirt.

Anywho I love you all. I hope you are still reading the scriptures everyday and praying everyday.
Safe Travels!!! Have a great time!!

Oh also Sister Gnoatto opened my box because I wanted  the shirt and I  guessed you probably sent candy so she wanted the candy which is loved btw. She also said "I think you probably want something else now that's in there..." I said "what?" then she got it out for me and it was my blanket!! Thanks Grandma Sally! It's awesome!!  She also said the clothes are super cute so I am excited about that when I open it for my bday.

OK love you all... I am super cold typing this email now lol. I have 2 pants, two Cardigans and two shirts. haha
With love from Brasil

Week 32 (7-1-19)  Happy 4th of July this Week !!!

Hey Dad and Family!

Thanks for the email and pictures. I think you are right about Granby being spoiled but lets not tell the other dogs, lol.

I don’t know how mom does it with only a few hours of sleep, I know I definitely need my 8 hours of sleep every night, or I will be very tired and kind of crabby the next day lol;

It sounds like the 5th Sunday lesson was just what was needed. Now with this information people need to apply it. That’s super crazy that Elder Ellsworth is getting home so soon. I was also thinking when he was getting home. I’m sure he is very excited, and his family too.

I had no idea about that information about Joseph Smith, but that is very cool! I am glad you are reading the Saints book. I’ve heard its really really good!  Sounds like you have all the things planned out for your trip ( or maybe mom planned all these things) But I am a little jealous, but you’ll have to send me pictures of it all.

Its crazy to think about our birthdays are just around the corner, 22 days for me and I’ll be 22!! Where did the time go???? I am going to send  you some  cards today, and should arrive for your birthdays :)

I got your package safe and sound, and really want to open it, but ill save it for my birthday :) I think Sister Gnoatto is more excited to open it then I am, lol.

This past week, was alright, we were able to teach people, but for whatever reason this past week these people weren’t super receptive, oh well!
Saturday evening, we went to a baptism for 3 little girls, in a branch that we have in our stake, but they don’t have a baptismal font so they use ours. As as luck would have it they didn’t have a pianist so they nearly jumped when they found out I played, lol. Soooooo thank you for always encouraging me to practice, it has really come in handy during my mission. I think that’s all that’s happened this week, it was kind of slow, so I’m hoping this week will be a little better. We are preparing for a baptism in our ward this coming Saturday, so I am excited about that. His name is Walmir (Valmir) He is 26 years old. so please pray for him this week.

I also remembered something else! This past Tuesday I went to my first English class. We have a brother in our ward to teaches English and so he asked me to come and talk with people, so I went, and I talked. It was super cool, but also funny because I don’t remembered some words lol. But other than that, I think that’s all : )

OH HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!!!!!
Eat lots of hot dogs for me!!
Have a great week!!
