Week 40  (8/26/19)  Pictures Only !!!  ðŸ˜Š

Hello Friends & Family!

This week was really short with Emma on the phone. The connection was poor and we had difficulty hearing each other today. She was only able to send some pictures and did not have enough time to send an email before she had to leave. She informed us that transfers are next week, she asked us to keep her in our prayers as she keeps us in hers.

Enjoy the photos, hopefully we can hear from her next week.

Love,

Sister Pierce's Family ðŸ˜Š

Week 39  (8/19/19)  9 months down! Ready to pop !!!  ðŸ˜Š

Hey Family!

Hope you are doing well. ... Yesterday I saw lots of couples and saw 9 cats having a meeting of some-sort..... Weird!

Yesterday during church because its not a piano piano, some little kids were probably playing about and did some things and so for the first and sacrament song had a synthesizer sound, something you would probably hear at a hallelujah church. you know??!

This past week we have interviews with President Santos and he burned me a little bit about doing better about writing in my journal... so I have been getting better. I also gave a training about how we can better have the spirit with us in the morning and when we return home in the evening. I burned the elders a little bit about cleaning because truly having a clean house invites the Spirit so think about that.

The work is going well here, and we are looking forward to the wedding an baptism of Marco and Alexandra on the 31st. Really things are chill here. Nothing too exciting has happened.

We had a funny contact this past week.... Hahahahaha. This last week a women was walking her dog, I said to Sister Costa, "lets talk with her" She was taller than most women I've seen, kinda big too. I said "Wow I love your hair!" She said, Thanks its organic"... After this I said, "whats your name?" she said, NOW its Alexandra.... HAHAHHAHHAHAHAHHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHHAHAHA SHE WAS A HE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ðŸ˜‚😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 but really things are pretty normal here. I think that was the funniest thing that happened this past week,. Oh also like everyone gave us food after Interviews!!! It was all super good, but I ate a TON!

Love you all!!!!
Sister Pierce

Week 38-1/2  (8/16/19)  Photos from Members  😊

Hello Everyone,

This last week was fantastic. We were able to speak to Sister Pierce on Sunday for Fathers Day & Monday for a few moments.  During our discussion I mentioned that she had some members send photos and videos thru WhatsApp. We were able to download the images to share with everyone below, however the videos are too large to post. I will keep trying to find a way to share them. Enjoy the rest of your week until next update from Emma.

Love,

Week 38  (8/12/19)  Message & Photos from Emma 😊

Hey Family,

Happy Fathers Day here in Brazil!!  It was so nice to be able to face time you from a members phone yesterday. What a big difference in the clarity when you have a fast connection.  Sorry I just kinda took over with Serenity, but felt that I needed to do that just to see hows shes doing. She is definitely getting tall. She also showed me her guinea pigs. I thought she only had one, but nope, she has two, lol.

My new companions name is Sister Costa. We are still learning everyday and love to read the scriptures. This past week I was reading in Moses, I believe it was in chapter 8 where it talks about believing in Christ and also God. We live in a world of many things, people that don't believe in God, or believe in other things, or worship other things. We need to evaluate our relationship with our Heavenly Father.  We make mistakes in this life, and by doing so, we remove our ourselves from Gods presence. We feel guilt, shame, sadness, unworthiness, and these are feelings from Satan, especially unworthiness.  But please remember that through the grace of Jesus Christ, our Savior, we can repent, we can change, and if we truly have the desire to live in the Celestial Kingdom, in the presence of God and Jesus Christ, then you will do the things necessary to obtain this never-ending Glory!

Thank you for sharing what you learned in Stake Conference, that is very beautiful. I am looking forward to receiving your cards. Thank you all for the love and support you are all showing me while I am here. I hope you all have a great week and looking to writing and hearing from you guys this next week.

Here are some photos of Zone Conference this past week, some photos after church yesterday, some random photos, and OH! I forgot to tell you that I cut my hair a little bit this morning. A member in our ward, Luis has been cutting missionaries hair for about 20 years. Its not what I had planned, but I LOVE IT!!

Talk to you next week,
Sister Pierce

Week 37  (8/5/19)  Phone Call Only 😊

Hello Everyone,

This week was  wonderful, we were able to speak to Sister Pierce for about 20 minutes before she had to go.  She wanted us to let everyone now how thankful she was to be serving In  Brazil.  She asked that you continue to pray for her that she will continue to learn the language and be more efficient in her communication.  She has a new companion, she told us the her name however we did not understand it. We asked her to email us her companions name, hopefully she can send next week.

Emma is looking forward to a couple of baptisms this week. This last month she has been teaching a couple who would like to get baptized. As with many relationships, They live together and are not married. She told us that they will be getting married in a place that specializes in small marriage ceremony’s.  We told her that it sounds more like wedding chapels we have here in the USA.  After they get  married, they will get baptized later that evening. She asked us to pray for them.

In the chart below, you will see that she has served for 259 days and 47% completed. It is hard to imagine that she only has 284 days remaining. It seems like only yesterday that she left.

As with most missionaries, Emma expressed how much she loves receiving a good old fashioned handwritten letter or card in the mail. Once a month when she goes to Zone Conference during lunch, they pass out letters and mail for missionaries. We would love it if everyone could write her a letter or send a card letting her know you are thinking about her. Please note, It takes about 3-4 weeks for her to recieve it after you send it from the USA.  The cost for an international stamp to Brazil is $1.15, her mission office below is the address to mail to:

Thank you for your love and support,
