Week 41  (9/2/19)  Email Only !!!  ðŸ˜Š

Hey Family!

I am happy you guys got the box, you don't know how many times I prayed over that box to get to you guys. I'm glad you are enjoying the chocolates. I think the chocolate here is way better than in the US. Did you have a favorite juice? (she sent  a variety of Tang packets)

Sounds like you guys are working hard in the shop. Congrats about that, continue to work hard, its only 9 months away til I am home and you guys will be going into winter shortly, and with school you'll be super busy. That's good news about Serenity and you ! I will continue to pray for you to do well in school. Tell dad to give you both blessings before you start. The power of priesthood is real.

Well, friends and family. I received an email from my family saying that many of you have added to my mission fund. They don't know who you are. I'm not even sure, but Heavenly Father knows, and both He and I are very very grateful for the sacrifices you are making to help me to be here to serve the Lord. Not being too worried about what's happening at home or how I am going to pay for my mission really helps me.  So truly, thank you. I know for a fact you WILL be blessed.

This past week was kinda hard, but full of miracles. It was week 6 in the transfer and me and Sister Costa were just exhausted. More than usual, I felt like. And the only conclusion was that Satan was working will all His force to drag us down, because we were helping Marco and Alexandra prepare for baptism. I am just sure he was working on them as well. In the end, the wedding and baptism were just beautiful, and I cried, but oh well. Now they have a goal to work towards the Temple :) One day they will be an eternal family, and I am soooooo very grateful I could have a small part in it. I'll include some photos.

This past week, we were very privileged to hear from our Beloved Prophet, President Nelson, as well as his wife. Also Elder and Sister Cook, and Elder and Sister Adidikius (I'm not sure that's how you spell they name- His is the Area President of Brasil) Anywho, it was amazing. On Friday we had broadcast just for missionaries and then yesterday after church, we got to hear again. They are definitely inspired people. One thing I love what Sister Nelson shared with us was about contention. She said, how can we avoid contention? She shared, first we need to be humble, so first think about that. Are you a humble person or a prideful person? She then added, We need to remove it from our hearts and minds, We need to study the Saviors words. How? In the scriptures, Read 3 Nephi 11-17 about when Christ returned to the Americas. We also need to use a softer tone of voice, and respond loving to people. She also added sometimes we can practice the situation beforehand. When in the instant the person may become granary and we can practice how to respond calmly. We can stop contention and heal the wounded. It was so beautiful!

President Nelson talked a lot about families. Families are ordained of God. How our homes need to be a place of love, peace, and refuge from the storms of life. He also said we need to teach our children that the highest blessings are found inside the Temple.

He also shared a funny story about when he and his first wife were newly married. He also talked about the importance of paying tithing. He said that when they were short on money they didn't know how they were going to make ends meet. Then they heard the hospital needed blood donations and they would get paid for it so they went straight away. He  said when they were finishing, his wife looked at him and said: "Don't forget to pay tithing on the blood money!" Hahaha!! He said "I paid and the blessings were amazing."  He also said that we should teach the Law of Tithing to the poorest people. Truly beautiful words.

Oh yeah woo hoo I'm staying one more transfer in here Ala 1!!!! I'm super excited, and I'm staying with Sister Costa. I am excited about that!! Also this past week they assembled my bed, so now i had a bed, i'm super excited about that.

I think that's all that happened this past week, Full of miracles for sure.
Love you all, and have a fabulous week

With love,

Sister Pierce
